Threadless Back To School Sale

Right now, Threadless is having their annual Back To School $10 Sale, which means that for a short time, you can pick up some great new threads for just $10 (hence the name). With tons of designs to choose from, you’re sure to find one that fits your style, though you better hurry, because supplies are limited, and they’re going fast. (Seriously)

…Don Garlitz choppers on waters?

Water Chopper

Jim Garlitz loves motorcycles.

He loves them so much, in fact, that he built one that can ride on water.

By combining a 1985 Yamaha Virago motorcycle frame with a 1990 9.9-horsepower Nissan outboard motor and his own homebuilt hydrofoils made out of “readily available materials”, his ‘Water Chopper’ can cruise around at 37 mph, riding on top of the water with a noiseless, smooth ride.

He says it’s great for fly fishing, and that “it’s stable. It doesn’t tilt, tip or anything”.

Grand total for this engineered toy?

Two months of work and $1,000.

Kinda makes you wish you had one of these instead of those last 200 Big Macs now, doesn’t it?

Venetian Blind Shirt

This very unique Venetian Blind shirt features a real pull string that you can open the blinds with.

Trying to show off that new six-pack?

Just give it a tug, and let the neighbors see the new view.

…You should do stuff?

Should Do This

Have you ever wanted to tell someone to do something?

Ok, maybe that’s a little vague, but I’m sure there have been times when you’ve had a gripe and you just weren’t sure who to tell. Or maybe you just had a really good idea, but no one would listen.

Well, now you can tell the world, with a new site called Should Do This.

To get involved, just say who should do what, and then other users can vote on whether or not they agree.

It’s a neat idea, and I can see this being a great place to bitch and moan, so you should go check it out.

…You need to get Lost?

LostYou’ve been invited to get Lost.

Lost InvitationLost is a student project “that aims to show how 7 million people (there are currently 20,500) connect and become the game with the most number of players ever. It’s about finding new ways of communicating an idea and crossing the boundary between the Internet and the real world”.

To join, you just need an invitation (see below).

Then, once joined, you win by scoring points, which are earned by inviting other people to join the game.

The more creative, the better.

You’ve got 30 days to score a point, and every time you score a point, your timer resets. If it reaches zero, you lose.

If you do manage to hang on though, the winner is going home with $5,000, and there’s a prize for the best photograph of an invitation.

So now that you’ve found it, it’s time to get lost…

…It’s Movie Monday: MTN Commercial?

Though I’m sure it would have been a lot easier for MTN to use CGI for their latest commercial, they instead chose to keep it old school and used one million Post-Its, 96,314 digital photographs (2.5 terabytes of storage), 4.9 kilometers of 35mm film, 3 weeks of editing, and 83 hours of work to make 60 seconds of stop motion magic.

Was it worth it?

…The ZunePhone is coming?

You knew that they were eventually going to make a ZunePhone parody, but I’ll bet you didn’t know that it was going to be this good:

…Today is National Slip ‘N Slide Day?

Slip ‘N Slide

I would like to propose that on this, the 25th of August, we, as a people, put into motion the changes that need to be made to declare this, the last Saturday of every August, “National Slip ‘N Slide Day”.

Why?

Because what’s more fun than finding a tarp, wetting it down, and sliding till your skin rubs off?

If you’d like to join the fight to bring this summertime fun back into common use, then grab some friends, loose your sense of good judgement, and get sliding.

Need a bit of inspiration? Here you go:

Tuba Girl

If you’ve noticed a few scantily clad women dancing around your MySpace lately, doing strange things in their underwear, fear not, because it’s all an attempt to get you to buy more Elle MacPherson Intimates.

There are seven girls involved in this ‘intimate’ campaign, and each one has a unique talent that they would like to show you.

The question is; are you ready to watch?
