…Passion Pictures stole from KozyNDan?

Hmmm.

Looks like Sony’s new Play-Doh Bunny Bravia ad might not be so original after all.

KozyNDan are an artist team that specialize in bunnies, and some of their past work includes a city filled with brightly colored bunnies:

KozyNDan

Seems a bit familiar, doesn’t it?

I’m guessing there’s going to be an uncomfortable phone call between Sony and Passion Pictures some time in the very near future.

I don't believe there are any original ideas anymore, and that everything can be found in some form, whole or fractured, elsewhere, and 'new' is merely building on the shoulders of the 'done'.

Yes, there are coloured rabbits in a city. However, there is none of the fluid morphing, the playing on size, and the sense of fun and freedom seen in the Sony advert. I'd actually say that the picture has an atmosphere which is creepy and unsettling.

    Just my two-pence.

Well said. Though, I would say that.

Anyway, to further the point it's worth mentioning that the crop shown here isn't entirely representative. To the right the full image depicts the bunnies jumping on people and people reacting with fear and alarm. Hardly the message of the Bravia adverts.

Nor would Fallon be the first advertisers to feed from art. Artists feed from art.

Lastly there's the small point of the media as the message. Even if it was as simple as taking that image and re-doing it as life-size in-place stop motion, that act in and of itself is a work of art! No mean feat, either.
