…It’s Things Thursday: Flip Video?

Flip Video

The Flip Video is to the camcorder what the Eee PC is to the laptop: A stripped down, easy to use, and surprisingly functional version of its big brother.

Sporting a VGA quality sensor (read: YouTube ready) and 2GB of built-in memory, there are no tapes or memory cards required, and it connects to your computer with a built-in USB arm.

One-touch recording and software that allows you to easily edit and share videos means that it’s designed to capture your day to day in a way that no camera has done before, and the size makes it easy to carry around with you wherever you go.

It’s time to Flip.

…Death From Above looks amazing?

Death From Above

Phu! And SBTG’s line of “Death from Above” Nikes is going to be one hot shoe release.

With the Death Seeker AF1s battling the Phantom Mirage AM90s, each side is limited to just eight individually numbered pairs, and at $500 a piece, they’re not exactly cheap, but when features include “weathered fuselage as an armor and cloaked in an urban desert storm camouflage” and “armored with metallic olive drab, battle dressed in desert storm and accented in a venomous acid green chompers”, it just might be worth it.

Available March 30th from Royalefam Shop.

(Be sure to check out Phu!’s Vinyl Is The New Canvas for some fantastic behind the scenes shots of what goes into a pair of very custom kicks.)

…Tokidoki Mimobots are now available?

Tokidoki Mimobots

Mimoco’s latest series of Mimobot designer USB flash drives is a partnership with Simone Legno’s tokidoki brand, and features the monkey-adorned Meletta, Italian devil chef Pastaio, and treasure-hunting Pirate Nero.

Meaning “sometimes” in Japanese, tokidoki was named because of Simone’s love for Japanese culture and because he believes “everyone waits for moments that change one’s destiny.”

As always, they come preloaded with desktop icons, wallpapers, avatars, soundBytes, and an issue of the MimoZine digital magazine.

Now available for pre-order.

…It’s Website Wednesday: Muxtape?

Muxtape

Muxtape is “a simple way to create and share mixtapes”.

It’s goal is to bring back the joy of laboring over a mixtape for hours to get everything just right, and does so by only letting you create one mix per account, and limiting your mix to just 12 songs. (Each no larger than 10 megabytes.)

When you’re done, the music is then streamed through your browser, so it’s not exactly a file sharing service, but since the only way Muxtape prevents copyrighted music from being uploaded is with a meek little warning: “By uploading a song you agree that you have permission to let Muxtape use it.” I’m guessing Muxtape is going to be dealing with a few high priced lawyers in its near future.

Regardless, it’s a nice (and simple) service that has some potential to help undiscovered artists get their start, and it relies on the “sharing is caring” motto, so I hope some sort of agreement is made to keep Muxtape around.

…You don’t need to lose a lot in Vegas?

Las Vegas

Unfortunately, the only thing that usually manages to say in Vegas is your money, so if you’re trying to lose less on your next Vegas vacation, then check out Dumb Little Men’s guide on How to Lose Less on Your Vegas Vacation.

With tips like slowing down, cashing in, and doing more, it’s a great guide to Sin City, and regardless of where your money ends up, you’ll probably have a better experience overall if you can just manage to follow a few of the pointers.

…EGPApparel is a new way to play?

EGPApparelIf you happen to be shopping for shirts inside of a Target, then be sure to stop by the EGPApparel section, because they’re selling shirts that not only feature artwork from Experimental Gameplay Project games, they actually feature the games themselves on a CD that comes with each one.

Supporting indie game developers and getting a unique looking shirt out of the deal; all at the same time?

I’ll take two.

…Canouflage makes it easy to get drunk in public?

CanouflageCanouflage is probably one of the best (and funniest) ideas I’ve ever seen: Simply wrap your beer in a vinyl cover that looks like a popular soda brand, and then chug away at what appears to be a harmless 12 ouncer to the outside world.

Available “flavors” include Skunkpiss, Risk, Peski, and Mountain Spew, and they come in packs of four that are also reusable in case the thirty pack that you bought is going to need some extra hiding.

…Rally crashes are exciting?

Unintentional Stuntmen

Motive Magazine has put together a fantastic top ten list of YouTube rally crash videos that show why keeping your car rubber side down isn’t always a possibility when things start to get crazy.

…Zolton is a technosexual?

Robot Love

Gizmodo’s interview with “Zoltan”, a “technosexual” that built a robotic girlfriend for himself, is definitely a bit on the strange side.

I won’t give too much away, but if the idea of robot love and “teledildonics” freaks you out, then perhaps this isn’t the article for you.

Or perhaps this is exactly the article for you.

…It’s Tuner Tuesday: Pontiac LeSupra?

Pontiac LeSupra

Sure, they did it in 3 Fast 3 Furious, but no one actually puts a new engine into old muscle; do they?

Well apparently they do, because the ’72 Pontiac LeMans that you see here is powered by none other than a 1991 Toyota Supra 7M-GTE 3.0 Litre 24V Turbo motor.

Apparently the car was basically a total loss when it was purchased at auction, so it’s not like they chopped up some pristine iron to make this creation, but I’m still not sure if I can wrap my head around how they decided that this was their best bet for power.

I guess if the go pedal works though, it doesn’t exactly matter what it’s connected to.
