If you want to go anywhere and do anything, then you need a…Nike Ill-Mobile?
The as yet nameless machine is “a souped-up, tricked out, action sports shred-mobile: part amphib, part 1970’s camper, and 100% rock and roll”.
The 8-wheeled ill-mobile can cross deserts, climb mountains, and search out any secret spot on the planet. Once there, it deploys rack mounted bikes, surfboards, wakeboards, and skateboards for any session that you can throw at it.
Can’t find a place to board?
No problem.
Grind rails line the sides, and a quarter pipe folds down from the rear for an impromptu session.
Need to chill for a bit?
Got you covered there too. The ill-mobile has an on deck bbq, a deluxe camper shell, a basement couch front seat, and a stereo to piss the neighbors off with if you ever have any.
This has got to be one of the craziest pictures ever!
What you see here is the crash that killed one and left 10 others injured after the driver, who apparently had been using cocaine before this crash, fell asleep at the wheel and plowed into a bicycle race taking place in Monterrey, Mexico.
There really isn’t anything else to say besides “Wow!” and “Pay attention when driving near a bicycle race!”
On my last trip to the snow, I saw a few folks running around the mountain on snow bikes, and it looked like a blast.
However, while the whole bike with skis for tires idea sounded like a lot of fun, the lack of suspension made it look like it would be less than fun after just a few minutes.
If you’re just dying to ditch the skis for something new though, then check out Boozhound Laboratories’ full suspension Skibike MkII. It takes the snow bound bike idea and adds in up to 10 inches of suspension travel for a cushy ride that’s sure to be easier on your tushy.
Biking can be a dangerous thing, but with Airzound’s 115 db horn at your fingertips, you’ll at least get noticed when needed.
By filling the bottle with pressurized air from your bike pump, you can reuse the Airzound over and over again at 30 blasts per charge. Plus, there’s a volume control switch for when you just want to say hello.
Today is Blog Action Day, which means that fifteen thousand blogs with a combined total of twelve million readers are going to be publishing posts about the environment.
Since I’m always down to support a good cause, I’m going to participate by giving you DYH’s Simple Rule To Live By: Do Something.
Being green doesn’t have to be a life changing decision. You don’t need to sell your car and buy a Prius; you don’t need to sell your Prius and buy a bike; and you certainly don’t need to recycle your bike and start walking everywhere; you just need to do something.
That’s because I believe that if everyone did something, then everything would change.
Why?
Because even small changes can make a difference.
Change a few light bulbs. Take a shorter shower. Recycle more. Drive less.
There are a million different things that you can do, so you just need to start doing them.
The key is to start small.
Soon, that single bulb will turn into a home full of CFLs, that shorter shower will turn into thousands of gallons of saved water, and that parked car will turn into a healthier you.
So just remember: Don’t try to change the world by yourself; just do something, and the world will follow.
When I heard the words ‘fixed gear bikes’ and ‘DVD’ used together, I had my doubts about how good a movie about the somewhat artsy bikes could be, but after watching the trailer, I will humbly accept defeat.
Despite a lack of gears, pegs, shocks, or comfort of any kind normally associated with trick bikes, the Mash SF crew manages to make this sport look like a ton of fun.
The DVD includes their hour-long feature film, an extra hour of outtakes, and a 120-page book of project photos and explanations.

The Collective, a Freeride Mountain Biking video, is one of those films that makes you wish there was some way to rent enough skill and enough stupidity (or is it luck) to throw yourself off of a cliff with nothing but a bike to break your fall. Shot entirely on 16mm film, the movie has a grittiness and a rawness that puts your right in the middle of the action. “The Collective has created a film that portrays the newest, cutting edge images of the Freeride progression, while exploring the thoughts and personalities of the riders leading that progression”. Though it was produced in 2004, The Collective is still as cutting edge today as it was when it was released, and continues to inspire the entire extreme sports video industry. Be prepared to be amazed.
The Aeroblade from Koga-Miyata is so beautiful, it deserves to be mounted on a wall and admired as art rather than sat on by a mere mortal. Produced as a partnership between Koga and Spyker, a small Dutch sports car manufacturer, this limited edition (only 50 will be made) bike features a hand-built titanium frame, sandblasted decals, a 14 speed internal gear hub, hand-built carbon fiber wheels, hydraulic disc brakes, Hulshof Leather grips, saddle and saddlebag, hand-built carbon fiber wheel fairings, and a whole lot of sexy.
StreetskinZ are designed to allow you and your bike “to achieve a certain amount of sweetness” and make you feel “freaking pumped”. Out of touch marketing slang aside, they look much better than a standard black tire, and with their reflective compound, make you way safer at night. Plus, they’ve got cool names like Scorch and Nightwing so you can be safe in style.
