…Aaron Rose makes some inspiring kicks?

Aaron Rose Shoes

Aaron Rose and DC Shoes have teamed up to create the Rose Mid as part of DC’s Artist Projects.

The shoe, which is available in either a black or wheat colorway, features an interior lined with plaid fabric and custom designed gum soles, with a repeating teardrop pattern that has a single clear teardrop to expose the cork interior.

The shoes come in a custom designed shoe bag, along with a mini ‘zine of Rose’s work, and a Rose designed box.

It’s all designed to pay tribute to the mod, punk and Goth styles that inspired Aaron as a kid, and made him what he is today.

It’s a testament to all the collaborations I’ve had throughout the years that have brought me to this position where someone like DC would come and ask me to make a shoe.”

…Nike is now selling lobsters?

Nike Concepts Lobsters

These Nike SB/Concepts collaboration shoes are amazing!

Themed after the lobster, these Dunk Lows are done up in lobster red leather, table cloth pattern lining, and a rubber band around the toe.

To complete the theme, they even come in a lobster trap box with the size printed on the size as a number of pounds.

I’m agreeing with Kitsune Noir on this one: Even if it is a ridiculous idea, the execution is so well thought out that it actually works.

Available exclusively at Concepts.

…The LIP Mythic Jump Hour is unique?

LIP Mythic Jump Hour

The LIP Mythic Jump Hour Watch features three separate discs for hours, minutes, and seconds that spin exposed on the dial and then line up in the viewing window to tell the time.

With a stainless steel case, leather strap, and Swiss quartz movement, the LIP Mythic Jump Hour is also guaranteed to work as good as it looks.

A collaboration separated by thirty years with the 1970’s “TV case & strap” design by Roger Tallon and updated as a jumping hour display by French designer Prisca Briquet for LIP.

LIP watches have been around for over 150 years but were unavailable in the United States until now. The company is reintroducing some of their most important models from a modern collection that remains as visionary today as when first unveiled 35 years ago. Most are faithful recreations while others have been updated with new designer visions.

…Zoomquilt is an endless world?

Zoomquilt 2

Zoomquilt

Zoomquilt 2 is a follow up to Zoomquilt, an Internet classic that’s been around since 2004. A collaborative art project that zooms indefinitely into itself, you’ll catch yourself starting at it for hours, noticing new things each time, and just trying to figure out how it works. The mesmerization effect also makes Zoomquilt a perfect screensaver. For you Windows users, just download it directly from the site, and for you Mac heads, Nullriver Software has been kind enough to put together a version just for you. Just be ready, because once you enter the Zoom world, it’s hard to leave.

…It’s Tuner Tuesday: Saleen?

Saleen History

Steve Saleen started out like any other Mustang tuner, adding more horsepower, more handling, more good looks, and more sexy to an already potent platform. Since the mid ‘80s, he’s been testing, tuning and tweaking his cars to get every last bit of performance out of the blue oval.

Saleen S7

Then, in 2000, Saleen did something that few others in the car world have been able to master: he designed and built his own car. The jump from bolting parts onto an existing car to designing your own car from the ground up is huge, but the S7 quickly dominated both the track and the street, proving that Americans can play the supercar game just as well as the Europeans can.

Saleen Mustang

Saleen’s current line-up includes the S7 (with 1000 twin turboed horsepower), the S281 Mustang (including a 550 horsepower Extreme version), the S331 Sport Truck (including a 450 horsepower supercharged version), and the new Parnelli Jones limited edition collaboration Mustang. If it’s fast, and it’s American, chances are, it’s Saleen.
