…Some Photoshop work is disasterous?

Photoshopped Disasters

With great power comes great responsibility, and unfortunately, the work of those featured on Photoshop Disasters severely lacks some of the former, and most of the latter.

The site is a collection of professionally Photoshopped images that skipped a round or two of quality control, because the end result is often a monstrous concoction of inhuman impossibilities that will make you question your day job. (Get paid to erase butt cracks from the covers of magazines? Sure!)

Sadly, these types of images fed the world a definition of literally unachievable beauty, so keep this site in mind the next time you find yourself saying “I wish I could look like that”.

…Grand Theft Auto is special?

Grand Theft Auto

Usually around the third or fourth iteration of a popular game, the designers decide that there are enough fans to warrant a special collector’s edition.

Though collector’s editions usually filled with a bunch of stuff that no one needs, they’re gobbled up by hard-core fans that want to raise their 1337 level by a few points at the next gaming get-together.

Apparently Grand Theft Auto has reached that point, because with the release of GTAIV coming up, they’ve announced a pre-orderable special edition that comes with a metal safety deposit box, special packaging, an art book with never-before-seen production artwork, a soundtrack CD filled with exclusive material, a Rockstar keychain, and a duffel bag to hold it all. Plus, order through Amazon, and you’ll even get a Liberty City license plate to round out the collection!

…The Bassett Collection is amazing?

The Bassett CollectionThough they’re a bit on the graphic side, the Bassett Collection of dissection photos is a fascinating look into the inner workings of the human body.

Now, thanks to Stanford University Medical Center, you too can view these amazing images on Flickr.

It’s only part of the massive collection, but it’s beautiful in an informative sort of way.

…It’s Things Thursday: Fuck This Book?

Fuck This Book

Fuck This Book is a collection of unaltered and untasteful images of “real public signs that have been mischievously altered by stickers bearing the most expressive of all four-letter words”.

What’s the message?

Thankfully, nothing: “This is not social commentary. There is no message. It’s not meant to offend, exploit, or embarrass anyone.”

Instead, it’s just meant to be a juvenile, profane, and timeless look at our lives in a world that has been persuasively transformed.

…Interiors can be obscene?

Obscene Interiors

Obscene Interiors “is a collection of real online male personal ad photos” with a “critique of the decorating found within”.

To help you focus on the décor, the “often-nude” figures have been grayed out, leaving nothing but their style and taste to show off.

It’s amazing what a change in focus will reveal!

…Adidas does the dark side?

Adidas Consortium Superstar Wars

Proving that your sneaks can be cool for more than just their design, these Adidas Consortium Superstar Wars shoes come in the same packaging as the Star Wars figures that probably lined the walls of your nerdy past.

Though most will probably stay in the packaging as part of a shoe collectors’ collection, it’s good to know that companies are still putting thought into details as small as the packaging of their products.
