…It’s Website Wednesday: Baseball Boss?

Baseball Boss

Baseball Boss is like a Fantasy Baseballer’s dream come true.

Designed to be the ultimate interactive baseball game, users can create teams using real major league players from 1907 or 2007, and then test and tweak those teams until they’re the best that they can be.

Once a team has been assembled, players can then challenge other players in real games, and using a combination of chance and statistics, a computer determines the winner.

New features are constantly being added, and it’s made by Challenge Games, who also developed Duels, so you know it’s going to have some great support behind it.

Are you ready to step up to the plate?

…You need to offset the evil?

Offset The Evil

Apparently Sega has decided that their new game, Condemned 2, is so evil, that if you’re going to play it, you need to offset that evil by visiting a site filled with ponies, clowns, rainbows and happiness.

I guess we’re all safe then…right?

…Apple is the leader of next gen computing?

iPhone SDK

The minds over at ReadWriteWeb seem to think that with the announcement of Exchange support and the iPhone SDK, Apple has set themselves up to become the dominating force in next gen computing, and I must say that I agree.

Here’s why:

  • The demand for small yet functional computers has already been demonstrated with the Asus Eee PC. If you can fit an entire computer into your pocket, you open up a world of possibilities.
  • The demand for pocket sized gaming devices has already been demonstrated with the DS (as well as all other pocket sized Nintendo consoles) and the PSP. Throw in Wii-esque motion controls and you’ve got yourself a winner.
  • Windows Mobile is terrible.
  • Exchange support means the iPhone can do what the BlackBerry does, only it looks good doing it, and can play games, movies, music, and more while you’re waiting.
  • It takes an iPod and a phone (two things many people carry around with them anyways) and combines them into one device. Why carry two when just one will suffice?
  • It’s an Apple product, so the UI is both beautiful and functional.
  • Combine a full SDK with a huge desire to develop for the latest and greatest mobile platform, and you’ll have throngs of developers jumping on board to develop amazing apps out of the gate. Microsoft Office anyone?

The list goes on and on.

Basically, as long as Apple can ride its current wave of iPhone success to conclusion, it will set the bar far beyond what anyone else is even striving towards at this point. The iPhone has created a whole new game, and currently, Apple is the only player.

Does this mean Apple will surely dominate next gen computing?

Time will tell, but all signs currently point to yes.

…Adidas wants you to create original games?

Adidas must have some creative geniuses working for them on a pay for creativity basis, because their latest run of commercials is fantastic.

On the heels of their Adi Dassler spot, they released this one called “Original Games”, and it should ring true for anyone who has ever taken what’s around them and turned it into a game of some sort.

Anyone else getting fond memories from this?

…Nike makes SB Dunk tributes?

Nike’s SB line of skate shoes are often some of the most creative tributes to grace your feet.

Nike Dunk SB 720 Degrees

First, there’s the Nike Dunk SB “720 Degrees”. Inspired by the first skateboarding arcade game, Atari’s 720 Degrees, these kicks feature a perfect match to the game’s color scheme, and will definitely make you stand out at the next arcade competition.

Nike Dunk SB Newcastle Brown Ale

Then, there’s the Nike Dunk SB “Newcastle Brown Ale”. Inspired by the delicious brown ale out of Newcastle, England, these kicks feature a hoppy style that is perfect for your next beer fest.

Regardless of your style, there’s no doubting the creativity that goes into a mash-up like this; and I commend Nike for thinking outside the box when is comes to design.

…Porsche plays video games?

Porsche Steering Wheel

For those that game with nothing but the best, this Porsche setup is as close to a 911 as you’re going to get.

With a “fully licensed” wheel, six speed gearbox, and pedals, this set features wireless connectivity, force feedback, 100 hours of battery life, table clamps, and a custom Porsche USB stick to save your best lap times on.

Plus, it’s a “to-spec” reproduction, so it’s about the closest you’re going to get to driving the real thing if you still spend all of your time driving around inside of a video game.

…Rock Paper Scissors is harder than you think?

Rock Paper ScissorsRock Crushes Scissors
Scissors Cut Paper
Paper Covers Rock

Simple, right?

For most, yes, Rock Paper Scissors is a simple game; but for some, it’s a game of skill and strategy that demands top performances out of the athletes that dare to play.

Rock Paper Scissors is a documentary about those faithful few who devote their lives to mastering the game.

It follows Graham and Douglas Walker (aka the Walker brothers), the founders of the World Rock Paper Scissors Society and the World RPS Championships, as they try to keep their child’s game a good-natured competitive sport.

Big business, talk show pundits, Playmate mascots, and a battle of good versus evil asks the question: Can purity beat commerce?

I can’t wait to find out.

…The Simpsons Game looks awesome?

The Simpsons Game

The Simpsons have already conquered the movie world, and now they’ve set their sites on the gaming world (again).

The Simpsons Game lets you play as any member of the family in the film’s 2.5D animation style, and features parody games such as ‘Medal of Homer’ and ‘Grand Theft Scratchy’.

Definitely a game to keep an eye out for.
