…Some options are just decadent?

Decadent Options

Sure, you might have splurged a bit the last time you bought a car and checked a few of the options check boxes, but chances are, the power seats and remote key fob you added on probably didn’t break the bank when it came time to sign the dotted line.

Car and Driver’s list of the ten most decadent options is a little different however, as these options are definitely more optional than functional.

How optional?

How about $3,750 for the Mercedes-Benz “Airscarf”, a vent that blows hot air on your neck when the top is down along with the temperature needle.

Not extravagant enough for you?

How about $12,000 for the Rolls-Royce Starlight Headliner, an roof that features 1,600 tiny lights that sparkle at night. (Though it’s only $7.56 per light if you break it down that way.)

With watches that will open doors, granite interior accents, reclining seats with leg rests, special leather, and “Drive-Dynamic” seats that massage you as you cruse down the interstate, these definitely aren’t for the thrifty buyer, but if money is no object, then these options will gladly clear you of yours.

…It’s Things Thursday: Lakai Recycled Program?

Lakai Recycled Program

If you’d like to go green in style, then check out the Lakai Recycled Program.

By “applying excess shoe materials that would otherwise be thrown away to selected styles each season”, Lakai is turning trash into unique pairs of kicks that are good looking and good for the environment.

In addition to the recycled materials (leather, suede, mesh) the Recycled Program shoes will also feature soles comprised of new gum rubber mixed with regrind rubber waste, reducing new material by up to 50%.

Another benefit of the program is that each shoe will have a unique look that is the result of whatever materials they happened to have around that day, so no two pairs will share the same material and/or color combinations.

…It’s Things Thursday: Oakley Medusa?

Oakley Medusa

Unless you’re a Burning Man regular, or your rock band is about to go big on MTV, I don’t think you need Oakley’s Medusa line of Hat & Goggles, but that doesn’t mean you can’t want them.

Featuring leather dreadlocks, snap on eyewear, and enough post-apocalyptic style to make Mel Gibson blush, the Medusa line definitely isn’t for the subtle, bit if you want to stand out, then I can’t think of anything better.

…Brabus is making a monster?

Brabus Mercedes-Benz McLaren SLR Roadster

If the Mercedes-Benz McLaren SLR Roadster just doesn’t do it for you, then maybe you need to check out the Brabus edition. (Or get a better sense of what does it for you.)

Featuring a new front spoiler made of exposed carbon fiber, a carbon fiber rear diffuser, 20 inch Brabus Monoblock VI wheels, special camshafts, a fuel cooling system, high-performance exhaust (the car is now up to 650hp from the supercharged V8) and a clutch-type limited-slip differential, the roadster will now get to 62 mph in just 3.6 seconds, with a new top speed of 209 mph.

Inside, there’s now custom leather trim, a flat-bottom sports steering wheel with integrated buttons for shifting gears, and carbon fiber trim for the dashboard, center console, and door.

Need more?

That’s just too damn bad, because it might not be possible.

…Furniture can get tattoos too?

Tattoo Furniture

Here’s an interesting idea for leather furniture: Tattoo it.

Designers Marie Rahm and Monica Singer of Polka have teamed up with tattoo artist Gert Kowarzik to do just that, and the result is a beautiful piece of punk art.

If you want tattoo style but fear permanent body alterations, then check out tattoo furniture, because it might not get you into a biker bar, but maybe that’s not such a bad thing.
