When I first saw pictures of the Rinspeed sQuba car, I thought it was a clever Photoshop or some sort of concept car art piece.
However, the sQuba is real, and can both drive on land and “fly” underwater.
Dubbed “the world’s first real submersible car”, it features three electric motors, two Seabob jet drives, zero exhaust emissions, LED lighting technology, VDO controls that work underwater, and a fully salt-water resistant interior/exterior.
Drive it into the water and it floats along the surface like a buoy. Then, just crack the door and it sinks into the depths. Hop out though, and the driverless (diverless?) car floats to the surface automatically.
Sadly, you still suck at Photoshop; but thankfully, Donnie is still here to help, and he’s continuing his series of sarcastically funny how-tos called “You Suck at Photoshop”.
Lesson three includes the clone stamp and manual cloning, and lesson four includes paths and masks, so you’ll be a pro in no time.
However, there’s no need to worry, because Donnie Hoyle has put together a great couple of how-to vids called, surprisingly enough, “You Suck at Photoshop”.
Lesson one includes distort, warp, and layer, and lesson two includes fixing the mistakes that you undoubtedly made in lesson one, so by the end of the 10 minutes, you should suck at Photoshop slightly less than before. (Though not much.)
To see what true Photoshop masters can do with a lot of time and even more motivation, check out the winners of the third round of Crestock’s Photoshop Contest.
The prize was a MacBook Pro, and the source material was rather varied, so the results are simply astounding.
Splashup is “a powerful editing tool and photo manager. With all the features professionals use and novices want, it’s easy to use, works in real-time and allows you to edit many images at once. Splashup runs in all browsers, integrates seamlessly with top photosharing sites, and even has its own file format so you can save your work in progress.”
Basically a free, online version of Photoshop, I was instantly impressed by how well Splashup works.
Open the editor, and it feels like a desktop application. Response is quick, it has a proper menu, and it integrates with your computer like it’s supposed to.
One of the best features of Splashup is the ability to import images directly from flickr, Facebook, Picasa, the web, and your computer, With a few simple clicks, you can import a photo, make the necessary edits, and then save/export the photo back into your site of choice.
With the ability to edit multiple images at once, pixel-level control, layers of depth, and more, there’s not much that you’ll miss if you’re stuck in an online editing world.
If Guitar Hero’s five buttons and a strum bar overwhelm your beat-less brain, but you can Photoshop like a master, then show off your skills with the Photoshop Hero shirt from Penny Arcade.
Note:
The back does exclaim that one has “Filter Power,” but this is only one of several earned abilities. In actual play, one might also choose to create a “New Layer,” in addition to several font-related “boosts.”

Believe it or not, this photo is not the work of a Photoshop artists.
Instead, it was taken by Robert Haas, who actually managed to capture a flock of flamingos standing in the shape of a flamingo for his latest book, called “Through the Eyes of the Condor”.
If this photo is any indication, Through the Eyes of the Condor is going to be an amazing addition to the collection of any coffee table book fan.
