…It’s Tuner Tuesday: Top Secret Supra?

Top Secret Supra

The Top Secret Supra is ridiculously, stupidly, blazingly fast. With an estimated 1,000 horsepower coming from the twin turbo V12, “Smoky” (the owner) hopes to top it out at 248 mph later this year. (Apparently 200 mph flew by without any problems, so another 48 doesn’t seem that far off, does it?)

Power was sourced from a V12 that was pulled out of a Toyota Centry, which, at 276 horsepower, isn’t exactly a powerhouse out of the box, so they’ll be plenty of custom work to get things running right. A six-speed shifts gears, an LSD puts the power to the road, and a custom body kit keeps everything down at speed.

Oh, and the price?

A mere $500,000.

No wonder it’s painted gold!

…It’s Tuner Tuesday: Makela Auto Tuning’s 1929 Ford Model A?

1929 Ford Model A

A 1929 Ford Model A isn’t exactly the car that you expect to see for Tuner Tuesday, but when it’s been given a 250 HP rally-spec Cosworth engine for motivation, anything’s possible.

Built by Makela Auto Tuning, it’s basically a pristine condition classic with a few extra ponies added in for fun.

To handle the extra power, the original wood wheels were replaced with wood-look metal, and better seatbelts were installed to keep things under control should the going get tough, but besides that, it’s pretty much 1929 through and through.

What types of numbers are you looking at here?

How about five seconds to sixty and a top speed of 124 MPH?

Unique is one word for it. (Crazy is the other.)

…Your iPod packaging can be useful?

Bird-Electron EZ17-B iPod Recycling Speaker

The Bird-Electron EZ17-B iPod Recycling Speaker has got to be one of the coolest iPod accessories that I’ve seen in quite some time.

By utilizing the packaging from the 1st & 2nd Gen. iPod Nano or the 2nd & 3rd Gen. iPod Shuffle, you can turn what would normally become garbage into a usable accessory.

The speaker panel simply snaps in place, and then connects to your iPod without the need for an extra power source.

When you’re done, just tuck the wire and the iPod behind the speaker panel, and away you go.

Nifty!

…Guinness is great for dominoes?

Guinness

Guinness harnessed the power of the Rube Goldberg style dominoes chain for their latest commercial, and the results are rather impressive.

It apparently took an entire week to film, with some sequences requiring up to 15 reshoots, so I can only imagine the dedication that these dominoes builders displayed. I’d say it was worth it though:

…It’s Tuner Tuesday: Art Car Lamborghini?

Green Lamborghini

Normally Tuner Tuesday features cars that are full of horsepower, torque, suspension work and sex appeal.

This car doesn’t have any of the above, but it does have one thing: Green power.

Made by sculptor Benedict Radcliffe and pedal car designer Ben Wilson, this Lamborghini art car might only have the horsepower of the two people behind the pedals, but it puts out exactly zero emissions, and is sure to get you about as many looks as the real thing.

Just don’t try to take it on the freeway, because I don’t think the crumple zones have passed safety inspection yet.

…It’s Website Wednesday: AfriGadget?

Afrigadget

AfriGadget is all about the ways in which everyday problems can be solved with a little African ingenuity.

A lack of power, tools, supplies (and money) are the inspiration behind these creations, and the things that people have come up with to solve their problems are amazingly intricate and well thought out.

Imagine what they could create if they actually had a few dollars to spend…

…Hartge makes one bad bimmer?

Hartge

Hartge, a BMW tuning company, did what any power junkie does when enough isn’t enough: put a bigger engine in it. In this case, the bigger engine was a V10 sourced from an M5, and the it was an E92 3 Series Coupe. The end result was 550 hp and a 0-60 time of 4.4 seconds with a top speed of 200 mph. To have one of your own is going to cost you over $200,000, but you’re guaranteed to have the baddest bimmer on the block. Plus, it makes for a great smoke show.
