Mimoco’s latest series of Mimobot designer USB flash drives is a partnership with Simone Legno’s tokidoki brand, and features the monkey-adorned Meletta, Italian devil chef Pastaio, and treasure-hunting Pirate Nero.
Meaning “sometimes” in Japanese, tokidoki was named because of Simone’s love for Japanese culture and because he believes “everyone waits for moments that change one’s destiny.”
As always, they come preloaded with desktop icons, wallpapers, avatars, soundBytes, and an issue of the MimoZine digital magazine.
Designgive’s Cause For Design is a site for socially conscious clothing where designers can submit designs, and a portion of the proceeds form each item sold are donated to a charity of the buyer’s choosing.
Their current offering is a beautiful tee called “Industrial Re-pollution” by Maciej Rakowski, and only 200 of them will be printed and are being sold on a pre-order basis.
Already their product line is impressive, and their charities are best of breed, so it’s a win-win all around.
Usually around the third or fourth iteration of a popular game, the designers decide that there are enough fans to warrant a special collector’s edition.
Though collector’s editions usually filled with a bunch of stuff that no one needs, they’re gobbled up by hard-core fans that want to raise their 1337 level by a few points at the next gaming get-together.
Apparently Grand Theft Auto has reached that point, because with the release of GTAIV coming up, they’ve announced a pre-orderable special edition that comes with a metal safety deposit box, special packaging, an art book with never-before-seen production artwork, a soundtrack CD filled with exclusive material, a Rockstar keychain, and a duffel bag to hold it all. Plus, order through Amazon, and you’ll even get a Liberty City license plate to round out the collection!
Chuck Palahniuk is definitely my favorite author, so when I read the summary of his upcoming book, Snuff, I immediately hit the pre-order button:
Cassie Wright, porn priestess, intends to cap her legendary career by breaking the world record for serial fornication. On camera. With six hundred men. SNUFF unfolds from the perspectives of Mr. 72, Mr. 137, and Mr. 600, who await their turn on camera in a very crowded green room. This wild, lethally funny, and thoroughly researched novel brings the huge yet underacknowledged presence of pornography in contemporary life into the realm of literary fiction at last. Who else but Chuck Palahniuk would dare do such a thing? Who else could do it so well, so unflinchingly, and with such an incendiary (you might say) climax?
The date has finally been finalized; On Friday, October 26, 2007, Apple will release Leopard, its latest operating system, to hoards of screaming Apple fanboys.
Ok, so it might not be that dramatic, but considering how long it’s been since their last release, a new OS is kind of a big deal. Plus, as Vista continues to flounder, it’s time once again for Apple to one up the ‘Soft boys.
Looking to get in on the action? Amazon has a pre-order deal going on right now, and you can save $20 if you’re willing to wait a few days for shipping.
Check out Apple’s site for a list of the over 300 new features that Leopard is bringing, and prepare to be upgraded.
When I heard the words ‘fixed gear bikes’ and ‘DVD’ used together, I had my doubts about how good a movie about the somewhat artsy bikes could be, but after watching the trailer, I will humbly accept defeat.
Despite a lack of gears, pegs, shocks, or comfort of any kind normally associated with trick bikes, the Mash SF crew manages to make this sport look like a ton of fun.
The DVD includes their hour-long feature film, an extra hour of outtakes, and a 120-page book of project photos and explanations.
It’s the end of an era. Harry Potter has reached his seventh and final installment, and on July 21, 2007, when he enters the Deathly Hallows, his reign as king of childhood reading will come to an end; and with that end, the series and the story must come to a close as well. All beginnings will have their endings. All loose ends will be tied up. All will be revealed. Or maybe not. Maybe, J.K. Rowling has one last trick left up her sleeve, and on July 21, the dream will live on in the hearts and minds of readers young and old across the country. Thankfully, Amazon is holding a pre-order to end all pre-orders, guaranteeing that you’ll be the first on the block to lay your hands on what’s sure to be a hot piece of literary property. Get ready, the magic is coming.
Well, it’s official: If you want to be the first kid in town with Microsoft’s new Zune digital media player, you better pre-order yours now before the November 14th release date. This thing is either going to sell like hot cakes, or fall on its face, but either way you’re sure to have a nice piece of history in your sweet little hands in a few weeks time. Place your bets.
