…It’s Things Thursday: Foof?

Foof

Foofbags and Foofpods are fantastic looking cases, sleeves, covers and pouches for laptops, iPods, iPhones, and other gadgets in need of protection.

Each Foofbag or Foofpod is ethically handmade in Australia, and comes in a variety of fantastic finishes.

The insides are lined with either Sherpa fleece or polished satin, and the included padding keeps your gadgets safe from the bumps and bruises of everyday use.

…It’s Things Thursday: Swims?

Swims

Crocs may be going out of style (and for many people, they never came into style in the first place), but that just means that something else needs to take their place.

Swims are definitely trying, and the waterproof overshoe actually does provide some function, so it’s not just all form.

Available in either Classic (low) or Mobster (high) style, Swims are designed to slip over your regular shoes, and provide protection from the elements.

Can these take the throne from the current Croc king?

…WordPress has been upgraded?

WordPress

Last night I took the plunge and upgraded to WordPress 2.5, and so far, everything has been working as expected.

The install took about 5 minutes (not accounting for the back-up time) and went without a hitch. All of my plug-ins seem to be chugging along fine, and I haven’t noticed any drastic changes to the front of the scenes look of the site.

Behind the scenes is where most of WP 2.5’s changes occurred though, so I guess that’s to be expected. The whole interface was revamped, and changes include:

  • Multi-file uploading
  • One-click plugin upgrades
  • Built-in galleries
  • Customizable dashboard
  • Salted passwords and cookie encryption
  • Media library
  • A WYSIWYG that doesn’t mess with your code
  • Concurrent post editing protection
  • Full-screen writing
  • Search that covers posts and pages

Let me know if you see anything go wonky in the next few days, but if you’re looking to make the switch/upgrade to WordPress 2.5, I give it two thumbs up.

…The manila folder is the new hot office accessory?

Good ideas often come in pairs.

Manila Case

For instance: Gizmodo loved the fact that Jobs decided to pull the MacBook Air out of a manila folder so much that they mocked up the Manila Case (with optional Red Kabbalah String) as the ultimate and equally overpriced accessory to your new AirBook.

AirMail

Not to be outdone, Jona Bechtolt and Claire L. Evans created the AirMail, an actual laptop sleeve that will be handmade out of upholstery-grade vinyl and lined with fuzzy, soft fleece to give the appearance of a manila envelope with the protection of a sleeve.

Ahh Steve; everything you touch turns to gold.
