Apparently the new trend in Japan is customized scooters that have been lowered, chromed, painted and tuned.
Since Japan brought us the rice rocket, could this be the next trend in vehicle modification?

If you’re willing to put your electrical skills to the test, then you can create your own Electric Mountain Board with a scooter motor and the batteries needed to power it.
The design allows for minimum damage to the board, and the ability to remove it if you want to do some standard riding.
A mod that gives you the best of both worlds?

10 MPH is “a comical documentary that follows a pair of aspiring filmmakers as they quit their jobs and turn a friend’s ludicrous idea into a movie. The impulsive purchase of a two-wheeled Segway scooter sets this story in motion when the two friends decide to travel from Seattle to Boston at 10 mph in an attempt to change their lives forever… What ensues is a road trip like none other with a haphazard cast of characters you could only find on a zany 100-day trek through America’s back roads. Each poignant story the two friends discover along the way inspires a craving inside to go out and do that thing you’re supposed to do.”
What’s interesting is that they’ve taken this film to the indie extreme, making money through a partnership with OurStage, and going open source by showing you how to make your own movie with the 10 MPH DIY Manual.
The entire film is shown below, but be sure to check out the 10 MPH site to help support the cause.

If the Vans Finger Fracture game ever makes it out of concept and into reality, I have no doubt that it will get immediately snapped up by the hoards of iPhone users as the greatest advance in adver-gaming since the BK King made his rounds on a scooter.
By using the iPhone’s unique multi-touch input, players can manipulate their skateboard with lifelike movements, and the Vans message is subtly woven through out.
Nifty.

Jon Patrick, blogfamous for his street-legal, jet-engined Volkswagen Beetle, responded to his wife’s request for more power from her Honda Metropolitan scooter by attaching two JFS 100 jet engines to the sides of the thing. Though it’s not yet complete, I’m sure the end result, a scooter with afterburners, will be more than amazing.

Some people are just poor with money but rich with ingenuity. Case in point, the scooter car:
