…The Nooka Zon is sophisticated?

Nooka Zon

Nooka has always been known for watches that are a little…unique, but their latest line, which drops next week and will be called the Zon, features a style that I think most people could agree with. (And a price tag that many cannot, at $650!)

The pixel system counts the time, and there’s a world time setting for world travelers.

Tired of counting pixels just to tell the time?

Not a problem. Nooka’s Zon can also be told to tell the time in a standard digital time format, though that’s probably not that important for the Zon’s intended audience.

With its leather or silver band and a subdued, sophisticated looking face however, the Zon may just represent the changing face of Nooka, though I wouldn’t worry to much about them loosing their edge.

…Circular Painting is beautiful?

Circular Painting

Fly on the Wall created this amazingly fantastic “Circular Painting” for the Discovery Channel, and it’s awe-inspiring to watch the artists bring the painting to life through movement and motion alone.

Artists include Bryan Devlin, Luis Tolosana, Warren Lewis, Ree Treweek, Daniel Ting Chong, Mike Morocco, Toyah Moon Humphreys, Paul Ressel and Josh Ginsburg, and you can actually see one artist’s style evolve into the next, which just adds another level of awesome onto this already impressive project.

Watch and enjoy:

…Matt Gemmell plays Favorites?

Favorites

Matt Gemmell created Favorites for the iPhone, a ‘Speed-dial with style’ application that lets you dial your contacts by face instead of name, and created a very thorough and lengthy blog post about UI design decisions he made along the way, as well as some of the lessons learned during the development process with regard to creating software interfaces for the iPhone.

If you’re the type of person that enjoys knowing the decisions behind the design, then this post is for you, as it leaves no stone unturned in the quest to build the perfect app.

…Poladroid keeps the Polaroid style alive?

Poladroid

Poladroid is an easy and fun Polaroid image-maker for the Mac.

To make high-resolution Polaroid-like images out of your digital photos, just drag and drop your images into the program, and wait.

Getting a little impatient?

You can shake the picture to make them develop faster, just like the real thing.

The app automatically crops your images to the appropriate size, and even adjusts the colors and clarity to match the Polaroid style.

…Aaron Rose makes some inspiring kicks?

Aaron Rose Shoes

Aaron Rose and DC Shoes have teamed up to create the Rose Mid as part of DC’s Artist Projects.

The shoe, which is available in either a black or wheat colorway, features an interior lined with plaid fabric and custom designed gum soles, with a repeating teardrop pattern that has a single clear teardrop to expose the cork interior.

The shoes come in a custom designed shoe bag, along with a mini ‘zine of Rose’s work, and a Rose designed box.

It’s all designed to pay tribute to the mod, punk and Goth styles that inspired Aaron as a kid, and made him what he is today.

It’s a testament to all the collaborations I’ve had throughout the years that have brought me to this position where someone like DC would come and ask me to make a shoe.”

…Mini wants to teach you Power Slide Parking?

Power Slide Parking

Mini’s Power Slide Parking is a surprisingly fun advergame.

The goal is to slide your Mini Racer into a spot (between a street conspicuously full of Minis) after dodging and jumping your way through obstacles that are trying to cramp your style.

Can you show the guys what you’re made of?

…Delicious looks delicious?

Delicious

Delicious (the social bookmarking site formerly known as del.icio.us that calls itself “the tastiest bookmarks on the web” and was also the father of the strange domain name), launched its long awaited redesign yesterday to help move the site beyond its late ‘90s style.

Though the underlying functionality is still the same, the new look and feel is designed to make it faster, easier to learn, and hopefully more desirable.

Speed: We’ve moved to a new infrastructure that makes every page faster. This new platform will enable us to keep up with traffic growth while ensuring Delicious is responsive and reliable. You may not have noticed, but the old backend was getting creaky under the load of five million users.

Search: We’ve completely overhauled our search engine to make it faster and more powerful. Searches used to take ages to return results; now they’re very quick. The new search engine is also smarter, and more social: you can search within one of your tags, another public user’s bookmarks, or your social network. Now it’s easier to take advantage of the expertise and interests of your friends, not to mention the Delicious community at large.

Design: Finally, we’ve updated the user interface to improve usability and add a few often-requested features (such as selectable detail levels and alphabetical sorting of bookmarks). Our goal has been to keep the new design similar in spirit to the old one, so all of you veterans should be able to jump in without any confusion. At the same time, we’re hoping that newcomers to Delicious will find it easier to learn.

I’m a big Delicious user (http://delicious.com/cory411), but since I use the Firefox plugin, I rarely if ever visit the site.

However, with looks like this, I just might have to give it a second chance.

…It’s Tuner Tuesday: Koenigseder Wide-Body Smart ForTwo?

Smart ForTwo

The Smart ForTwo isn’t known for being a particularly sporty car, but that didn’t stop Koenigseder from pimping it out with a wide-body kit, 17” rims, Eibach springs, floral decals, and environmentally friendly floor mats.

It won’t get you to where you’re going any quicker, but at least you can arrive in style!
