Super Mario Fusion might be the best Mario to date.
Created by a fan, it will feature guest characters, widely varied worlds, and a completely new weapon system in addition to the standard Mario weapons (shell, fireball, etc.).
To quote the creator: “Think of this game as Mushroom Kingdom Hearts of sorts.”
Planed worlds include Sonic, Megaman, Castlevania, Halo, SHMUPS, Nintendo, and more, and each one will be unique.

Paper Mario World is an impressively thorough Flash game.
Though it’s only one world, the graphics, music, and controls are all true to Mario form, and it’s got plenty of side scrolling action for the fans. Plus, there are even secrets and bosses to round it all out, so get ready to once again smash and bash your way through a land of Goombas and Doombas.
