…It’s Website Wednesday: Overheard.it?

Overheard.it

Overheard.it is a Twitter quote aggregator that gathers together everything and anything that gets tweeted with the word “overheard” at the start, and puts it all in one place for your perusing pleasure.

From the very beginning, Twitter was used as an easy way to share funny quotes that you heard with the world, and Overheard.it wants to make sure those quotes don’t just make it to someone’s immediate followers.

Be warned though, a visit to Overheard.it shows you all of the dumb and/or funny things that are being said around the world at any one moment, and you may quickly loose your taste for humanity.

Prepare to become addicted to eavesdropping.

…It’s Website Wednesday: Muxtape?

Muxtape

Muxtape is “a simple way to create and share mixtapes”.

It’s goal is to bring back the joy of laboring over a mixtape for hours to get everything just right, and does so by only letting you create one mix per account, and limiting your mix to just 12 songs. (Each no larger than 10 megabytes.)

When you’re done, the music is then streamed through your browser, so it’s not exactly a file sharing service, but since the only way Muxtape prevents copyrighted music from being uploaded is with a meek little warning: “By uploading a song you agree that you have permission to let Muxtape use it.” I’m guessing Muxtape is going to be dealing with a few high priced lawyers in its near future.

Regardless, it’s a nice (and simple) service that has some potential to help undiscovered artists get their start, and it relies on the “sharing is caring” motto, so I hope some sort of agreement is made to keep Muxtape around.

…You can fix unresponsive scripts?

Firefox Unresponsive Script

Whenever I use my RSS reader (NetNewsWire) to read Digg and then open tabs for the interesting sounding stories in the background in Firefox, I’m always greeted with an “Unresponsive Script” warning.

Fortunately, the error is just a timing issue, and if you’ve been receiving the same error, then the fix is an easy one:

  1. Type about:config into Firefox’s address bar.
  2. Filter down to the value for dom.max_script_run_time.
  3. Change the value to something higher than the default.

Yes, it’s that easy; and you’ll soon have uninterrupted browsing of your favorite social bookmarking site.

…It’s Things Thursday: Puppoose?

Puppoose

The Puppoose is “the most ergonomically designed, natural way to carry your pet. The luxuriously lightweight, soft fabric makes using this carrier a breeze! The Puppoose fits any small dog and any person! Its crocheted design has 4 holes at the base for the pet’s limbs, 4 adjustable straps to adjust the length, a neck cushion for your comfort, and a safety strap to ensure your pet’s security. Its hands-free convenience allows more quality time together!”

If you just read that and thought, “Wow, I’ve been trying to find more ways to spend quality time with my dog!” then maybe the Puppoose is for you, but then again, maybe you should check your sanity fluid at the next stop. I understand wanting to be close to your dog and all, but do these dogs look happy?

Despite my warnings, if this looks like the perfect gift for your furry friend, they’re $80 from Feel The Flo.

…Design By Humans is having a sale?

Design By Humans

If you’re a member of Design By Humans, and you’ve had your eye on a particular design, but haven’t yet pulled the trigger, then head on over and use coupon code SILVERSNOW for 25% off your entire order. It’s only good for one day though, so you better hurry.

If you’re not a member, then sign-up and see what happens. It’s worth a shot, and you may find yourself saving the same 25% as the rest of us.

If those two options don’t work, or if you wait too long, then use the coupon code SJ7ABE for 15% off your entire order for the next 10 days.

However you go about it, check out what Design By Humans has to offer; because they’re putting out some great stuff, and it’s mostly going unnoticed.

Consider yourself warned.

…Some guys don’t like the HJ?

Warning: Depending on your sensitivity, you might consider this video to be extremely offensive (it is called the Hand-Job Protest Song after all), but I also found it to be extremely funny, to the point where I caught myself laughing out loud, so if you choose not to heed my warning, proceed with caution:
