The Ariel Atom is the only car to ever destroy Jeremy Clarkson’s face:

However, despite its looks, this car isn’t the Ariel Atom:

No, this car is a home-built Ariel Atom clone that’s the end result of a gearhead with a garage and a dream. (And 800+ hours of work.)

Ariel Atom Clone Detail

Featuring stainless panels from old appliances, black body panels from an ancient kayak and an old doghouse, a throttle pedal from salvaged parts that were the result of a dumpster dive at a local engineering firm, and the k20a3 engine out of a wrecked RSX, it’s also an eco-friendly car that shows that recycling can be quick too.

Specs come in at 4.5 seconds to 60, and 35+ MPG, so it’s not bad in the performance department either.

A home-built dream car pieced together from scraps lying around the house?

It doesn’t get much more tuner than that.

…Ryan Cashman is talented?

Ryan Cashman also has a lot of time.

By taking tons of 20-30 second long exposures using his DSLR, and then stringing them together in a time lapse/stop motion fashion, he was able to create a fantastic video using nothing more than a green LED keychain, a camera, and time.

…Diesel is making XXX SFW?

Diesel is celebrating their 30th Anniversary with a bang by throwing 17 parties in 24 hours in places like Tokyo, Beijing, Dubai, Athens, Helsinki, Amsterdam, Barcelona, Copenhagen, Milan, Munich, Paris, Oslo, Stockholm, Zurich, London, Sau Paulo and New York.

The line up includes Mark Ronson, N*E*R*D, M.I.A., David Holmes, Chaka Khan, New Young Pony Club, and more.

However, regardless of how much fun the parties are, the best part of their anniversary will still be the invitation!

By taking ‘70s porn clips and (kinda) editing out the naughty parts, they created Diesel XXX, a semi-SFW video that shows you all the fun you’ll be having if you come to their party:

…It’s Movie Monday: Off The Rails?

Off The Rails

Darcy Prendergast’s Off The Rails is a fantastic short about “all the crazy people met on public transportation”.

It’s done in stop motion claymation, and the lighting, tone, and color are all fantastically original and engaging.

Since Off The Rails has been on YouTube since October of ’06, but has only managed a mere 20,000+ views, I’m going to call it an undiscovered gem of the ‘Tubes.
