…Office Shapshots lets you see inside your favorite company?

Office Shapshots

If you’ve ever wondered what the offices of your favorite companies look like, then check out the Office Shapshots blog.

Walkthroughs include both web/tech companies, and larger companies that everyone is familiar with, so you can see if Tech Bubble 2.0 is alive and well, or if the perks from Bubble 1.0 have come and gone.

…Stranger photos have happened?

Stranger PhotosJay from The Plug created an interesting project called Stranger Photos Have Happened where he tied a disposable camera to a bench with a sign reading:

    Good Afternoon,

I attached this camera to the bench so you could take pictures. Seriously. So have fun. I’ll be back later this evening to pick it up.

Later that day, he did in fact go pick the camera up, and after developing the film, he posted the pics to his site for the world to see.

…Some Photoshop work is disasterous?

Photoshopped Disasters

With great power comes great responsibility, and unfortunately, the work of those featured on Photoshop Disasters severely lacks some of the former, and most of the latter.

The site is a collection of professionally Photoshopped images that skipped a round or two of quality control, because the end result is often a monstrous concoction of inhuman impossibilities that will make you question your day job. (Get paid to erase butt cracks from the covers of magazines? Sure!)

Sadly, these types of images fed the world a definition of literally unachievable beauty, so keep this site in mind the next time you find yourself saying “I wish I could look like that”.

…The Bassett Collection is amazing?

The Bassett CollectionThough they’re a bit on the graphic side, the Bassett Collection of dissection photos is a fascinating look into the inner workings of the human body.

Now, thanks to Stanford University Medical Center, you too can view these amazing images on Flickr.

It’s only part of the massive collection, but it’s beautiful in an informative sort of way.

…The Simpsons intro is unknown?

The Simpsons Intro

The opening scene of every Simpsons features a panoramic sweep of the city that reveals many of the characters, yet does so in such a speedy manner that it’s hard to see exactly what’s shown.

Thankfully, with the release of the series on DVD, it’s possible to slow down time, and as Drew Mackie has done, stitch together the into clip into one large image.

What’s interesting is that, despite seeing this clip before every episode, most people (myself included) have never really had a chance to see exactly what’s going on.
