You don’t often see professors designing shoes, but John Maeda, a professor at the MIT Media Lab, is showing the world that smart people can have style too.
The shoe that he created, called the Reebok Timetanim, is based on the Reebok Ventilator, and features graphics that were created using an original mathematic algorithm and computer code. Even the interior lining is mathed out, with a reprint of the original, hand-written calculations that Maeda used to create the design.
It’s a limited edition of 100, so if you want a pair, make sure you head on over to Reebok Custom on November 13th and reserve one, because math is beautiful.
