Robert Shields was a little eccentric when it came to his diary. Only a stroke could eventually stop Rob from recording everything that he did, every five minutes. His diary, at 35 million words, is believed to be the world’s longest. Rob was obsessed with documenting every part of his day. He would sleep for no more than two hours at a time so that he could record his dreams, and would spend at least four hours each day writing in his diary. In his own words, he recorded “everything I do, everything I eat, everything I wear, everything I read, everywhere I go, everything I think or dream…just everythingâ€. Robert Shields: The definition of dedication.
