There’s a good chance augmented reality will change the way we interact with information in the very near future, as this demo shows the potential that AR can have on a simple story book when combined with a video camera that has been integrated into a desk lamp:

Sure, you’re car can handle better than most thanks to a new set of tires and an upgraded suspension, but can it handle… a purse?
The new Rolls Royce 200EX features a purse holder that actually pops out of the rear seat, and when you put a purse on it, the holder automatically grabs the purse and gives it a light squeeze so that it doesn’t go flying around the cabin when you take your Rolls into the twisties.

Claytorial is the claymation version of Common Craft, and their goal is to “help people understand complicated things”.
Their first demo is for a magazine called More2Girls, and it shows off what they’ve got in store, though I can’t wait to see what they can with a concept like the Google spider, which is currently in their upcoming section.
For now though, it’s a great start, and a good look at an area that I think we’ll see a lot of in the coming year. (Explanations for complex technologies and services in simple and easy to understand ways.)
It might not be pretty, and you may only be able to race around the track forever against your two CPU opponents with no weapons or anything else to break up the monotony, but Nihilogic Labs has managed to create a working JavaScript demo of Super Mario Kart that includes three playable drivers and two different maps.
At this point, it’s just an experiment, and basically exists as a technical demo/proof-of-concept, but hey, it works, so go check it out.
The folks behind WordPress have just released a Demo Site of WordPress 2.5, and after playing around for a bit, I must say that I can’t wait for the changes to go live!
To see for yourself what these changes are all about, log in with Username: “admin” and Password: “demo” to give it a try.
