…It’s Tuner Tuesday: Jackass?

Jackass Camaro

The 638-horsepower LS9 from Chevrolet’s new Corvette ZR1 is the most powerful engine GM has ever made. The 1969 Camaro is (arguably) the most beautiful car GM has ever made. Combine the two, and you have a match made in heaven known (lovingly) as Jackass.

Made by Mark Stielow, the Jackass Camaro not only features the engine from the ZR1, but the GIGANTIC carbon-ceramic brakes as well.

Rounding out the package is a Tremec T56 six-speed out of a Viper, and an Art Morrison subframe to hold it all together.

In all, Mark says that it would have been “cheaper to just buy a ZR1”, but then you wouldn’t have the baddest car on the block.

…Jackass 2.5 will be free?

Jackass Movie

On December 19, Jackass 2.5, the half-sequel to the rather popular Jackass movie series, will officially become the “first broadband movie ever distributed by a major studio”.

For two weeks, anyone will be able to view the hour-long film in its entirety for free, with a pre and post-roll the only intrusion into their Jackass pleasure.

After the free preview, the film will be available on DVD, through iTunes, on Amazon, and anywhere else Paramount Pictures can make a buck off of the pain of others.

If it works, there could be a swing towards using this method of distribution in the future, so check it out, because free is hard to beat.

…Dare Junkies wants to be the next Jackass?

Dare Junkies

Dare Junkies mixes a little bit of the YouTube formula with a little bit of the Jackass formula and aims to find out what happens. “Challenges” are posted on the site, with everything from streaking to kissing strangers, and anyone can accept a challenge and video themselves doing what the challenge requires. Then, each month, the top ten videos, as voted upon by the users, will split up a cash prize of $5-10,000. Some of the examples posted already are mildly amusing, so it’ll be interesting to see what gets submitted over the course of time. Regardless of quality though, it should be good for at least a few laughs, so check it out.
