Tamien Bain didn’t need to steal the Big Mac Chant?

Big Mac Chant

In 1993, Tamien Bain, aka “BAiNG The Locksmith”, held up a McDonald’s at gunpoint.

Tamien was 14, and spent 12 years in prison for his crime.

Now 29, Tamien is one of five finalists for the McDonald’s Big Mac Chant competition, out of a field of over 1,000 submissions, and if he wins, he will fly out to Los Angeles where he will record his jingle for a national TV spot.

You just can’t make stuff like this up.

…McDonald’s is having a Big Mac Chant-Off?

McDonald\'s Big Mac Chant-Off

McDonald’s has partnered with MySpace to bring you the Big Mac Chant-Off, a competition that lets you mash-up the music from their audio kit, or lay down a track of your own, with the winning remix appearing in the next McDonald’s commercial.

The only rule: You still need to use the original lyrics.

Say it with me now: Two all beef patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles, onions on a sesame seed bun.

…McDonald’s is growing their billboards?

McDonald\'s Salad Billboard

To help promote its new health-conscious menu items, McDonald’s created a billboard that lets the message grow to speak for itself.

The board, which featured 1 ½ inch sprouts from 16 kinds of lettuce that grew into lush leaves, spelled out the words “Fresh Salads” using only plants, and sent a simple yet unique message that gets its point across nicely:

Another similar yet unique McDonald’s billboard was the breakfast sundial that used the sun to place the McDonald’s M over different breakfast items through out the day:

…McDonalds is a Line Rider?

McDonalds Line Rider

Typically, when McDonalds hops on board, you know your product has jumped the shark.

Line Rider may soon be making its debut at a console near you, but it’s sure going to be tough to live this down:

…Some stores are large?

Store Space Graph

If you add up all of the floor space for some of the most common stores in the US, you would see that Wal-Mart covers more acreage than all of Manhattan.

Continuing down the graph, McDonalds is about one and a half times as large as Central Park, and then the rest of the stores sort of stand in line from there.

Just be glad that you’re not the one that has to clean all of that up.

Edit: Wonder where they all are?

Here’s a video of Wal-Mart’s almost bacteria like growth:
