…It’s Website Wednesday: Paris Exposed?

Paris Exposed

Though I’m not surprised by the existence of ParisExposed.com, I am surprised by the extent of ParisExposed.com. The story behind the site goes like this:

  • Paris rented out a 6,000 square foot storage unit to house all of her personal possessions.
  • Paris forgot to pay the $208 bill.
  • The storage unit was auctioned off.
  • Someone bought it, sold the stuff inside for millions to ParisExposed.com.
  • History.

The site is a literal database of anything and everything Paris Hilton. It features:

  • Britney Spears memorabilia.
  • Nick Carter love notes.
  • Recorded phone calls.
  • Her phone book with thousands of celebrity phone numbers.
  • A Girls Gone Wild session with Joe Francias.
  • Lots of drug use.
  • Video diaries.
  • More Paris sex tapes.
  • Receipts, medical records, bank statements, fan mail, cards, to do lists.
  • Much more.

Though I’m sure there’s some juicy stuff in there, I almost feel bad for her. Almost. If you’re willing to put down the $39.97 required for one month of access, Paris’s world is your oyster, though you’ll have to check your conscience at the door.

…It’s Website Wednesday: Homestar Runner?

Homestar Runner

Homestar Runner is a classic already, but if you haven’t yet seen it, today is the day (you needed a new Internet addiction anyways, right?). Based around an ever growing collection of Flash cartoons, the site features a myriad of characters and a variety of styles, including Strong Bad’s emails, Homestar Runner, the Teen Girl Squad, games, and more. Usually the stories involve “absurd humor with references to 1980s and 1990s pop culture, notably video games, classic television and popular music”, with a definite emphasis on the absurd. It took a few viewings for me to really get into it and start to understand the humor, but it was definitely worth every minute. The site is filled with so many quotables, you’re going to need to abandon all hope of ever talking the same way again after you enter. It’s worth it though, because once you go Homestar, you never go back. It’s dot com.

…It’s Website Wednesday: Jellyfish Smack Shopping?

Jellyfish Smack Of The Day

Jellyfish Smack iPod

Jellyfish offers a unique way to buy products called Smack Shopping. Each day, a variety of items (usually tech related, but sometimes it’s anything goes) are sold in a type of Dutch auction where the price starts out at retail and continues to drop until the limited number of items for sale sell out. The drawback is that you pay the full amount, and then after 60 days Jellyfish cuts you a check for the amount of savings you bought in at, so it takes a while to receive your savings. The upside is that you can usually get some pretty good deals on items that usually don’t go on sale, such as iPods, PS3s, XBOX 360s, MacBooks, etc. I’ve actually used the service myself, and saved 37.31% ($130.21) on a brand new 80GB iPod, so I can definitely attest to the fact that the service worked. A brand new iPod arrived at my door shortly after the purchase, and I received a check for the cash back amount after waiting through the required wait period. If you don’t want to purchase that day’s Smacks, you can also try to guess the final amount of savings and earn points towards a Smack Piggyback where you can buy one product at the top discount after the Smack has finished. If you’re looking to score some great deals, or if you’re a fan of sites like Woot! And macZOT!, then definitely give Jellyfish a shot, you never know what you’re going to find.

…It’s Website Wednesday: Exotic cars get wrecked?

Murcielago Fire

Wrecked Exotics is “the Internet’s largest collection of exotic car crash photos”, and also a great way turn any hiccup in your day into a “well, I guess it’s not that bad”. Sure, it must be nice to afford a car with a six figure price tag, but I’d be willing to bet the day that owner put it through a steel pole was probably not a good day. All told, over a quarter of a billion dollars in automotive carnage has been documented. If you’ve ever dreamed about driving one, chances are someone has crashed one, and someone else got it on film.
