…Levi LaVallee is a world record breaking snowmobile jumper?

Levi LaVallee was planning to set the world record for the world’s longest snowmobile jump during this year’s Red Bull New Year No Limits, but he was injured recently while preparing for the jump, and the event has been canceled.

Thankfully, he managed to jump 361-feet during practice, beating the existing record by 60 feet, and caught the RIDICULOUS looking jump on video for the world to enjoy:

…It’s Tuner Tuesday: WhiteKnightTwo?

Sir Richard Branson and Virgin Galactic continued their quest to turn space into a tourist destination on Monday with the roll out of the new WhiteKnightTwo (WK2) carrier aircraft that will ferry SpaceShipTwo and “thousands of private astronauts, science packages and payload on the first stage of the Virgin Galactic sub-orbital space experience”.

WK2 is the world’s largest all carbon composite aircraft, and at 140 ft., the wing spar is also the longest single carbon composite aviation component ever manufactured.

Powered by four Pratt and Whitney PW308A engines, WK2 will support up to four daily space flights, and reach a maximum altitude of over 50,000 ft (limited only by the atmosphere).

It might only be for the rich and famous right now, but soon, Virgin Galactic hopes that you’ll hop aboard SpaceShipTwo, and WhiteKnightTwo will whisk you away into the blackness of space for a quick lap around the Earth.

…Robert Shields loved writing in his diary?

Robert Shields was a little eccentric when it came to his diary. Only a stroke could eventually stop Rob from recording everything that he did, every five minutes. His diary, at 35 million words, is believed to be the world’s longest. Rob was obsessed with documenting every part of his day. He would sleep for no more than two hours at a time so that he could record his dreams, and would spend at least four hours each day writing in his diary. In his own words, he recorded “everything I do, everything I eat, everything I wear, everything I read, everywhere I go, everything I think or dream…just everything”. Robert Shields: The definition of dedication.
