…Apple awards design?

ADA Cubes

A big event at the WWDC that Apple puts on each year is the giving out of Apple Design Awards, a celebration of “technical excellence and outstanding achievement in Mac OS X software design and development”. With categories like User Experience, Dashboard Widget, Student Project, and Game, it’s a good way to find out what’s the best of the best in the Apple software world, and this year was no different, with Delicious Library, Coda, and Picturesque among the winners. Check it out for a look at Mac’s greatest.

…Apple is Democratic?

iPhoneAh conspiracy theories. There’s just something so wonderfully captivating about their possible truthiness. The latest comes on the heels of Apple’s big event, and claims that Steve Jobs’ well-known leftist slant may have found its way into the wonderphone’s promotional material.

As you can see from the picture, the chosen web page for the iPhone’s internet demo is a decidedly democratic snapshot of the New York Times, taken during last year’s elections. Lucky coincidence, or overt subliminal messaging? You decide.

…The Stevenote is over?

And the huge news from Apple is…

Not much.

Some gaming news, a few Leopard updates, a rather lame iPhone update, new Safari Beta, and Sarafi on Windows.

This iPhone thing better be huge, or Apple fanboys are going to have to start deflating their expectations.
